Thank you for making #BATW2023 a great conference!
Britain and the World 2023 is officially done and on the books. It truly is the scholars who come together to share their ideas, their time, and their expertise with each other who make this conference the wonderful experience it is. We are grateful to all the delegates who attended from across the world, in-person and virtually, to be a part of this vibrant community. This community was also reflected across the great conversations on Twitter (and if you have not followed us on there, our social media accounts will be some of the best ways to keep up with what #BATW is doing).
And a quick message to those who presented papers at this year’s Pittsburgh conference, either virtually or in-person, please think about submitting your work for this year’s paper prize:
As a reminder, we have a prize for the best paper, which will include conditional acceptance for publication in the peer-reviewed Britain and World journal. All conference participants are eligible. Papers must be based on original research and should be submitted by 1 June 2023 to the award co-coordinators, Laura Seddelmeyer (seddelmeyer@lycoming.edu) and Jessica S. Hower (howerj@southwestern.edu). The piece should be approximately 7,000 words including citations (in preparation for a final article of between 7,000 and 10,000 words, including citations) and should be formatted in accordance with the editorial guidelines of the Britain and the World journal, which may be found here.
Again, thank you for being a part of this conference and we look forward to seeing you again.
Thank you to Carla Pestana for the beautiful cover photo.
